Danny B felt the time was right for him to put his feelings in a song honoring all of the fallen as a result of the Vietnam War. Being a Vietnam Veteran himself, (US Army 69-70 in country) he wanted this song to reflect his feelings about the Vietnam Veteran. These veterans came "home" to a country divided by its opinion about the Vietnam War. For the most part those who were lucky enough to have made it home were not treated very well and were not "welcomed" home to the country they were defending. They were doing what they were made to do yet chastised for doing it. That and what they had been through is a very heavy load to carry. Some have never been able to cope with it.

Danny B wrote "That Black Wall" in September 2007 when he learned that the Virtual Wall was coming to Rochester, NY. He wanted to write a song that he could sing about the Vietnam War and The Wall. The first run through of the song was completed just in enough time for him to leave a pamphlet containing the lyrics of the song and pictures under Dennis E. Timmons name on The Wall. (These mementos were buried in a vault in Rochester, NY.) Dennis was a very close friend of Danny B’s, as well as, a fellow musician. While in Vietnam, Dennis found 2 old badly abused guitars for sale which he bought and restored for himself and Danny B. They would play whenever they were back at base camp and not out on a mission. Dennis was attending Berkeley studying music when he was recruited by the Army. His life ended far too soon defending our freedom. Danny B wanted to create this tune for not only Dennis, but for all the Vietnam veterans with us today, the MIA’s, and POW’s and for the families of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. The words to this song tell a story of the war and what The Wall means to those who served, and the families of loved ones who are not with us today.

November of 2007 marked the 25th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Danny B was invited to Washington, DC where he performed "That Black Wall" in a concert given to the Veterans by the VVA at the Sylvan Theater near the Washington monument. He was one of many that performed for our Vietnam Veterans. Danny B offers this CD for sale with 100% of the proceeds going to the Veterans Support Foundations (VSF) that support all veterans and their families.
