Danny and I left Rochester, NY Friday November 9, 2007 to fly into Washington, D.C. where he was asked to perform "That Black Wall" in a concert being given to and honoring our Vietnam Veterans and the 25th Anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It began to rain upon our arrival. The temperature dropped and it continued to rain all night. After dinner and meeting some wonderful fellow veterans, we decided to head to the room to get things in order for the following day's performance. Dan played the song in the room then decided that the acoustics would be better in the stairwell. Meanwhile, I stayed in the room to press his outfit for the next day. (Had to get the travel wrinkles out, cause hubby has to look good on stage.) Before I could make it to where he was playing he returned to the room. Danny had been busted by hotel security who loved the song but could not allow him to play it in the stairwell. Oh well, better luck next time. We headed out Saturday morning to find the Sylvan Theater on foot. What a mistake. It was very cold, windy and nasty, not to mention it was over a mile to the stage from our hotel. Though everybody was shivering from the cold, all the performers did a great job! What a concert for our Vietnam Veterans. We got to meet Lea Jones and his group, the Kingston Trio, United We Sing, Alton Miller and more. What a great group of people, including security staff, stage hands and members of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) and Vietnam Veterans Assistance Fund (VVAF) who organized the concert. Special thanks from Danny and I go to Wes Guidry, Joe Sternburg and Keith King of the VVAF who made the CD available on their web site. My personal heartfelt thanks to Jennifer Hook of Baltimore, MD and Mike Krym of Rochester, NY, you guys know what you did for me. Without their assistance our trip to Washington would not have been has enjoyable as it was. We would like to also thank those who have purchased the CD to help our fellow veterans through the support that the VVAF offers to our vets and their families.

Danny also had a spot on NBC channel 10 Thursday, November 8, 2007 news show highlighting his song "That Black Wall", and his up and coming performance in Washington, D.C. at the concert being given for the Vets at the Sylvan Theater. Along with that, the Messenger Post did a cover story about Danny, his song, how it came about and the performance.
